I don’t know about you, but when fall arrives, it’s not pumpkin-spice-flavored-everything I look forward to. Instead, I like to get into the Halloween mood by reading spooky stories.

It’s about a woman who downloads a phone app to help her sleep, but…there’s something off about it.

Pixelvania Ebook Stores: Amazon Alternatives

Y’all know that my books are available through Amazon. Of course! But did you know you can also buy my ebooks at other digital stores?

My Books2Read.com page has a list of all my ebooks; click the “buy” link for any one and you can choose from 9 other stores to buy your ebook from (including Apple, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo). You also have an option to set your default store so any B2R link you click sends you straight there!

On PixelvaniaPublishing.com, the “Buy Ebook” button on each book’s page uses my Books2Read purchasing links by default, so you can set your preferred store without needing to go to my Books2Read page. But if you like the Books2Read page, that link is always at the bottom of the website, in the footer.

My Pixelvania Gumroad Store also has all my ebooks for sale. This one’s a little more advanced–after purchasing, you’ll get the files themselves (.mobi and .epub) if you know how to sideload them onto your device (or are comfortable learning how), this is another alternative store you can use for buying my ebooks.

Today’s the Queen’s birthday (costar of my science fantasy STEEL CITY, VEILED KINGDOM), so I thought I’d post some of my drawings of her to celebrate.

She’s been around a LOOOONG while so I have a lot of art of her. Here’s two newer sketches of her, a detailed charcoal portrait I did of her back in The Day, and an equally ancient 8-bit? 16-bit? pixel sprite (not animated).

Of course, this is just the way *I* imagine her…your mileage may vary, and that’s A-OK by me!

Cover Makeover: THE BUREAUCRAT

As one of the first short stories I published, The Bureaucrat got the best cover I could make at the time (2017). And while I still like the vibe the original acid green cover brings to this Twilight Zone-esque tale of just deserts, I thought it was time for an update that brought the human(??) element to the fore. And thanks to artist Christian Bunyan, I’ve now got a new cover that ups the creep factor by ten!
