Just began writing in the most beautiful Leuchtturm notebook EVER.
Notebook: Leuchtturm 1917 Master Ruled (Hardcover)
Why yes, Quark *is* holographic!
The DuFresnes are gone.
The sheriff’s horse disappeared weeks ago.
Now the vampire that took them wants to chat…
“Growing Shadows in the Desert” is a short story by Danielle Williams, free on this website for one week only. Also available as an ebook through various online retailers.
Hi, everybody! Last week I hit 50K words on my nosferatu novel. Very exciting!
Since then a scene’s come up where a fire faerie needs to create some smoked glass for the nosferatu prince. Now, I don’t know the first thing about how you’d make sunglasses in the old days, so over the past day or two I googled up information…but it always stuns me how so much of the information and inspiration I need for any given book just…floats into my life.
Today the ocean of inspiration sent me a post from Gurney Journey that mentioned Lorrain Mirrors. When I clicked on the link, I got an entire article about darkened mirrors and smoked lenses used in the past, and a simplified way to make one.
Ain’t serendipity wonderful?
Hi, everybody! February knocked me down with a nasty cold/bronchitis illness so I’m still getting into the swing of things.
A Gingersnap Cat Christmas was finished, um…January, probably? And is in “post” so to speak. But since I missed my deadline, rather than releasing it right away, I’ll be looking into making it into a print book for next Christmas!
In the meantime, please enjoy the fabulous finished cover!
(My husband desperately wants me to animate the kitten rising up…Any volunteers?)
In other news, my nosferatu novel hit 40K…and it’s just getting started! Hoo-wee!
The good news is: the content’s finished (almost made it to 40K!), it’s in my proofreader’s hands, and the story’s cute!
The bad news: I missed my Christmas deadline (obviously)!
But that’s OK. As soon as it’s ready, it will be posted here for your reading pleasure (even if you don’t get to it ’til Christmas 2018!).
Thanks for sticking with me, folks!
Currently on the docket: Frenchies 2, Nosferatu Novel, SCVK edits.
Wow! I just finished typing up what I have so far of A Gingersnap Cat Christmas and I’ve reached 31,000 words! A few connecting scenes, a proofread and a cover, and this’ll be out! Hopefully before Christmas! *fingers crossed FURIOUSLY!*
A Gingersnap Cat Christmas has hit 20,000 words and is still going! (I’m still in the process of typing up what I’ve hand-written.) I didn’t achieve my Thanksgiving goal, but now I’m curious to see how long it ends up!
My plan is to type up what I have, fill in a couple of missing scenes, make a cover while the typos get checked, and…well, hopefully publish it before Christmas! Whew!
Whoo! My latest story, A Gingersnap Cat Christmas, just hit 10,000 words! Since I want it finished by Thanksgiving, I’ve been trying to write on it even on days when I’m Not Feeling It™. So far, it’s working! Even on my argleblargle days I’m managing between 700-1400 words an hour. Stay tuned to see if I manage this audacious goal!
And in a complete mood swing from the last release, we have What the Cat Brought Back. It’s a novelette (think: longer short story) perfect for Halloween reading.
Writing this, I was surprised by the tender friendship between the two women, Katheryn and Mallory. I mean, it’s still a horror story, but there’s some light in the bleakness.
And please remember, reviews are always welcome!
